And what a way to start - fullback.
A field with the reigning Group 10 Player of the Year should be a no contest, right?
Wrong.
THIS SURVEY IS NOW CLOSED
The emergence of Lithgow’s custodian Adnan Saleh and the brilliance of Joe Lasagavibau from Orange Hawks throughout 2013 will ensure there’s no clear-cut winner in our first field, even if it does include last year’s best Tim Bassmann.
The dynamic trio are joined by Mudgee’s reliable No.1 Jared Robinson in the race for the fullback’s role in the Group 10 People’s Choice Team of the Year.
Saleh is the big challenger, having stormed onto the scene.
He scored five tries on debut against the Dragons in Mudgee and has since continued his uncanny ability to break the line and score for the defending premiers.
THE CONTENDERS
Joe Lasagavibau (Orange Hawks): seven tries, 11 games.
The fuse behind everything attacking in the Orange Hawks arsenal.
Blinding speed combined with strength makes Lasagavibau’s ability to find gaps in the defensive line a valuable commodity for the two blues.
Adnan Saleh (Lithgow Workies): 16 tries, nine games.
What a standout in 2013.
Saleh has blitzed opposition sides with his pinball-like ability to bounce out of tackles.
Coach Graeme Osborne has said Saleh is only 70 per cent fit.
A scary thought.
Tim Bassmann (Orange CYMS): three tries, six games.
Not Bassmann’s best year, but the green and golds are building and a lot of that has to do with the return of this man.
The most complete fullback in the Group and the one to beat.
Jared Robinson (Mudgee Dragons): five tries, 11 games.
Unheralded in many ways, but Robinson is as good a fullback as any on this list.
A former Group 10 representative, the Dragon’s No.1 always pops up at the right time at Glen Willow.

One of the best support players in the Group and a reliable spark for the struggling Dragons side this year.
