Dwyer returns to the CYMS line-up for the next Royal Hotel Cup clash with Kinross two seasons after an outstanding player of the match performance in the 2014-15 Cup grand final.
Opening the batting against Cowra he topscored with 66 before taking the ball to finish with 5-8 off 2.5 overs.
And he took a catch as well.
While such a performance might ensure his name is mud in Cowra, Dwyer will be a welcome sight for CYMS in their first Twenty20 clash of this season, particularly if he can repeat that effort.
CYMS captain Hamish Finlayson said Dwyer’s return was a boost.
“It's great to have Sammy back in the side,” he said.
“He's a very dangerous player, one who can change a game in the space of a few balls with either bat or ball.
“He also shows a lot of heart and passion, which inspires the whole team.”
However CYMS will be without Finlayson, who is unavailable for the game and the club’s marquee player, Michael Delaney, who has suffered a side strain.
Delaney should be fit for CYMS' next game against ORC on November 15.
It will be both teams’ first game of the tournament after Kinross’ opening match, against ORC on October 20, was washed out.
Kinross coach Andrew Litchfield said they would be at full strength except for injured opening bat Alex Brien.
“We’ll miss him with the bat and in the field but apart from that we’ll be at full strength,” he said.
Litchfield said the T20 did not suit its younger players as well as the other formats.
“The younger students don’t find the boundaries as well, but they run well between the wickets.
“We’ll come well prepared and see what happens,” Litchfield said.
The game starts at 6.30pm.
Centrals will play Lithgow Lightning in the next game on Friday night.
