After admitting his outfit took Orange lightly in last weekend’s Mitchell Cricket Council Twenty20 Cup and they paid the price for that, Bathurst skipper Jameel Qureshi declared the Barracudas won’t make the same mistake on Sunday.

If they do, they’ll find themselves on the Western Zone Premier League scrapheap and potentially the President’s Cup’s too.
Qureshi and his side remain a chance to qualify for both competitions’ finals but they have to take down Orange at Wade Park on Sunday to have a hope of doing so, and so he called on his side to show the Bluebaggers a little more respect.
“We didn’t show them the respect they deserved and we need to do that if we want to win,” Qureshi fired, referring to his side’s opening round loss in last weekend’s T20 Cup.
“Orange play well as a team and we can’t play the way we did against them last week.”
Considering the different format Bathurst named a T20-suited outfit last weekend, but they’ve made two changes from their last premier league clash as well.
After helping the Barracudas to a win over Cowra on January 20 neither Wayne Sellers nor Matt Stephen will front on Sunday, with Nic Broes and Mitch Taylor coming back into the side.
After not featuring in the shortest format, the likes of Jaden Ekert and Dave Henderson retain their long-form places.
“Jaden is pretty experienced and when he gets going he can be pretty exciting. If he bats for 15 to 20 overs, he can set you up nicely,” Qureshi said.
“Henderson is another experienced player, who is really solid with the bat.”
Sunday’s clash at Wade Park kicks off at 10am, with Cowra hosting Dubbo at Holman Oval in the weekend’s other premier league clash.
Lithgow faces the Blue Mountains on Sunday too.
