The image which was unveiled on Monday afternoon depicts a large crowd of CWA members from March 21, 1929.
A hundred mothers are pictured with their children along with Orange CWA branch members at the northern end of Robertson Park.
The picture was taken to the mark the occasion of the CWA's Baby Health Centre's clinic nurse, Sister Olive, retiring from the role as she was due to be married.
Orange CWA branch president Georgina Luscombe said the new addition to the hall would raise the visibility of the building, adding that the image itself was a "delightful encapsulation" of everything the organisation stood for.
"I love this photo because it captures several elements that are very pertinent to the CWA. I think one of those elements is that it's quite tinged with sadness. This farewell that is depicted is the celebration of a young lady's career which had to be cut short because she got married.
"She was no longer able to be a working lady so I think it serves as a great reminder to everyone here today how far women's rights have come," the branch president said.
"I think also the fact that it's a scene of celebration - of women coming together in the community... all of that speaks to the ethos of the Country Women's Association which is about embracing the community, acknowledging women's work and hospitality."
The face-lift to the building is one of a number which will take place around the city, as part of the Future City CBD upgrade.
