The house at 69 Clinton Street was purchased for $2.1 million by local buyers who already live in Orange's CBD but want to downsize.
The four-bedroom house at 69 Clinton Street is one house away from 65 Clinton Street, which broke the record last year for the highest priced house in Orange when it sold for $2.8 million.
The home, sold by Rebecca and James Hammond, is set on a 554 square-metre block, and was designed by Bassmann Drafting and renovated in 2019 by Master Builder Award-winning builder Duncan Baird.
Mr Baird has renovated a number of historic homes in the area including numbers 65 and 67 Clinton Street.
The home has two bathrooms, and a built-in gas fireplace, as well as a high-end kitchen with stone benchtops and a butler's pantry.
The open-plan rear living area featuring a cathedral ceiling and large sliding doors giving access to the indoor and outdoor entertaining areas.
The master bedroom has a walk-in robe and ensuite.
The gardens have been landscaped and there is an outdoor wood fireplace.
Apart from the sale of 65 Clinton Street, other impressive recent sales include nearby 123 March Street which McGrath Orange principal Josh Fitzgerald sold for $2.3 million working with the Hammonds' agent Jack Aumuller .
Mr Aumuller said the top-end of the residential property market is still holding well despite changing conditions.
He said 69 Clinton Street's interested buyers were drawn to the home's proximity to the CBD with 71 parties visiting the property since it went on the market in December.

He said while there were multiple interested parties the eventual buyer knew what they wanted and the property hit the mark.
"It was a good campaign and I'm very please with the result," he said.
"The buyers are downsizing into the property."
Mr Aumuller said while the buyers had prioritised the location there were other factors that made the house so appealing.
"They were really taken by the finishes, the overall feel of the home and the layout and the design," he said.
Mr Aumuller said many buyers were keen to find something that didn't require any upgrades.
He said no matter what market you are selling in, it's important to make a good first impression as this house did.
According to CoreLogic the median price of a house in Orange is $690,000.
